A cased pair of percussion pistols, Edward & William
Blued, octagonal Damascus steel barrels with smooth bores in 12 mm calibre. The upper sides of the barrels with finely engraved signature "E & W Bond, 45 Cornhill London". The bottoms of the barrels with struck London acceptance marks and "W. Ellis". Snails with platin-lined vent holes. Locks finely engraved with tendrils. Walnut full stocks with finely chequered butts. Delicately engraved, blued furniture, the trigger guards numbered "678" and "679", respectively. Vacant, silver escutcheons, iron hinged ramrods. Length of each 30.5 cm.
In the original oakwood case, the lid with folding handle and engraved owner’s name "Mr. Edward Webb". Lockable, key enclosed. The inside lined with green felt. Manufacturer’s label glued to the inside of the lid. Richly appointed with accessories such as powder flask, screw driver, nipple wrench, bullet puller, cleaning rod and cap box. Dimensions of case 6.5 x 42 x 21.5 cm.
