A cased set of four late George III silver-gilt 'berry' spoons, each in Old English pattern and later decorated with trailing leaf borders and embossed fruit motifs. Hallmarked London 1814, maker probably William Eaton. Length 8.75 (22 cm), weight 9.15 ozt (284.5 grams).
Condition Report: All spoons appear in fairly good overall condition. Displaying some general surface wear, marks and scratches and some light tarnishing and fading to the gilding. A few minor edge nicks. Residues of polish. Some slightly heavier rubbing and wear around edges and tips of bowls but they have generally faired well. Hallmarks clear and legible with minor rubbing.General wear to case and clasp does not close securely.
