of oval form with flat copper-gilt base and screw-top, decorated in various coloured cloisonné enamels and thicknesses of gold wire, with a ho-o bird among scrolling foliage and a butterfly among chrysanthemums on a dark blue ground, the panel surrounded a diaper design, signed Kyoto Namikawa (workshop of Namikawa Yasuyuki, 1845-1927)
