A continental silver repousse pair cased pocket watch, by Samson London, the circular white enamel dial centring on a lake land scene applied with Romans numerals and Arabic minutes with Louis XIV hands, approximate diameter 4cm, key wind gilt fusee verge escapement movement signed Samson London and numbered 5473, case with indistinct British hallmarks, outer silver case decorated with a scene of figures in Classical dress within a foliate scroll border, c.1780, case width 49mm
Movement not running, no key, dial with minor scratches and hairline cracks mostly to 12 and 9 and large chip to centre near hands, case with abrasions and scratches and small dents and solder repair to suspension, glass cover does not close properly, outer case with abrasions, scratches and wear commensurate with age and use.
