A cultured pearl necklace. Comprising three strands of cultured pearls, measuring approximately 8.9 to 6.5mms, to the mid 20th century platinum and gold, old-cut diamond cross motif clasp with rose-cut diamond and calibre-cut sapphire openwork surround. Estimated total old-cut diamond weight 1.50cts, H-I colour, VS2-SI1 clarity. Length 48cms. Weight 89.8gms. Purchasing information Overall condition good. Some surface scratches/wear and discolouration in keeping with general age and wear. Cultured pearls likely later to the clasp. Diamonds well matched. Diamonds bright.

Principal diamonds with few minor inclusions under 10x magnification. One of the kite facets to the central diamond appears slightly rough, possible shallow cleave parallel to the facet. Individual size and setting of rose-cut diamonds prevents accurate weight estimation and colour and clarity assessment.

Rose-cut diamonds generally with some small inclusions and some small surface cavities under 10x magnification. Without the aid of laboratory equipment, it has not been possible to determine if these cultured pearls are from a fresh or saltwater source. Cultured pearls are a creamy white colour, with rose and greenish overtones. Cultured pearls generally in good condition, with some minor nacre damage and abrasions and typical surface blemishes and features. Sapphires are a well matched medium blue hue, well saturated, with good clarity and typical inclusions.

Sapphires in good condition with minor abrasions.

Length of clasp 1.9cms. Please see the Important Notices for Purchasers for coloured gemstones.

Condition reports are offered as a guide only and we highly recommend inspecting any lot to satisfy yourself as to its condition.
