A fine Chinese blue and white semi-eggshell plate with a lady carrying a child, fang ding mark, Kangxi

A delicately potted plate, finely painted in underglaze cobalt blue with a refined figural scene. An elegant lady is depicted carrying a young boy on her back within a rocky garden landscape enclosed by a fence. Her hair is elegantly arranged in a refined coiffure, and she wears a finely patterned, flowing robe, its graceful folds emphasising the elegance and sophistication of the figure.
The reverse is decorated with two mountainous rock formations, while the centre bears a fang ding mark within a double circle. Chinese porcelain decorated with large-scale figural scenes, such as the present dish, is less commonly encountered and is considered comparatively rare.
