?A fine French Empire inlaid satinwood ?drumhead? mantel clock with Fahrenheit thermometer, Robert Paris, early 19th century The circular two train eight-day bell striking movement with anchor escapement regulated by half-seconds pendulum and stamped with Robert, A?Paris kidney-shaped cartouche trademark over serial number 185 to backplate, the circular silvered brass Roman numeral dial with engine-turned rosette to centre and subsidiary half-seconds dial annotated 0-60 at twelve o?clock, with steel moon hands and milled gilt brass bezel, the movement and dial mounted on a rectangular section architectural pedestal cradled by twin leafy scroll decorated scrolls to throat over line-edged panel applied with silvered Fahrenheit scale mercury thermometer incorporating decorative spiral bulb, on generous waisted moulded skirt base centred with a stylised foliate spray to fascia, 39.5cm (15.5ins) high; with original conforming rectangular plinth with rounded angles, 44.5cm (17.5ins) high overall. ?
