A fine Tibetan thangka with scenes from the life of a lama. Distemper and gold on cotton. Late 17th century

With delicate miniature painting depicting various scenes with teachers and disciples placed in a lanscape divided by pink clouds; among the scenes images of deities: Vajravarahi to the centre, Vajradhara and Vajrakila to the lower righ and a wrathful protector deity riding a bull to the upper left. A long Uchen inscription on the back. Simple brocade mounting. Some damage.
Size: Image 41 x 26.5 cm; mounting 79 x 42 cm
Condition: Creases and minor pigment loss, a tear in the upper right corner and to the lower border, darkened surface; brocade with small holes and sark spots and discoloration.
