A fine pair of Chinese blue and white dishes, Jiajing/Wanli (1522-1619), with shallow rounded sides, the interior decorated in underglaze blue in the centre with a lotus blossom centring radiating scrolling leafy stems, the exterior decorated in underglaze blue with lotus scroll, the base inscribed with a four-character shang pin jia qi ('high quality vessel') mark within a double circle, 18.8cm diameter (2)Provenance: From the collection of Sir David and Lady Scholey.
