A flat-fronted top cabinet on a single foot, Lusíada, carved teak decorated with foliate scrolls, imaginary animals and the coat of arms, of the Portuguese Correia family, carved foot surmounting a square base, blued lacquered and gilt drawers interior, vermillon-hemmed "Birds nibbling grapes", red lacquered drawers interior with gilt paintings "Flowers", scalloped metal lock's escutcheon "Two-headed Eagle", iron lateral handles, Southeast Asia - Gulf of Bengal, 16th C. (2nd half), missing outer lacquer, old square base possibly non original, small faults and defects Note: only two flat-fronted top cabinet on a single foot are known: one of them integrated the auction #130 of Cabral Moncada Leilões, Septembre 27th, 2011, lot 511, and is shown on FERRÃO, Bernardo - “Portuguese Furniture from the early days to Mannerism”, Third Volume - India and Japan”, Oporto, Lello & Irmão Editores, 1990, p. 141, # 409; the other one is part of the Collection of Jorge Neves da Mota, Oporto, and was exhibited in the following exhibitions, in both cases accompanied by Pedro de Moura Carvalho’s study: “An Oporto Look - A Collection of Decorative Arts”, Quinta das Cruzes Museum, Funchal, 2005-2006, being shown on the respective catalogue, pp. 114-116, #27; and “The Lac World - 2000 years of History”, Calouste Gulbenkian Museum, Lisbon, 2001, being shown on the respective catalogue, p. 146, #70., Dim. - 127 x 81 x 47 cm
