A gem-set nephrite bowl, India, Mughal, 19th century and earlier

of deep elongated oval form, the exterior decorated with a scrolling network of gold and silver wire inlaid tendrils, set with garnets, a small golden fish on each side of the bowl, the underside similarly set with garnets and jadeite stones

Condition Report:
The large carved jadeite body in good condition with natural internal inclusions, some wear to base consistent with use and a small crack near one edge, the exterior with few missing stones and their settings, the stones not tested, some light detachment of small sections of the silver bands, some of the missing stones are saved separately in a bag and we would recommend contacting a specialised conservator for restoration, as viewed.
