A gilt and lacquered bronze figure of Buddha Shakyamuni. Thailand. Around 18th century
Seated in meditation, the right hand hanging down in bhumisparshamudra, the left is held above the feet in dhyanamudra, the robes clinging closely to the body. The head and ushnisha are covered with tiny pointed curls, the ketumala is inserted into the ushnisha.
