A graduated pair of early 18th century German silver stacking beakers, Augsburg 1723-35 by Johann Ulrich Jebenz (died 1742) Each of tapering lobed quatrefoil form with caulked rims upon spreading quatrefoil feet. Each side with a cast and applied boss of a classical busts of Roman emperors, all within flat chased Baroque strapwork reserved with textured decoration. Each marked underneath with makers mark V.I in an oval (Rosenberg 808) and town marked. (2) Taller – 7.1 cm / 2.75 inches Smaller – 5.8 cm / 2.25 inches Weight – 212 grams / 6.82 ozt
