A group of late 19th century gem hardstone and glass cameos, comprising: an amethyst oval cameo carved to depict the head of Zeus, full face; three turquoise cameos, all carved in high relief the largest depicting the head of a Roman princess, another depicting the bust of a Roman official, the last probably a satyr; and four cornelian cameos three carved depicting classical female busts and one full face bearded man; and a glass cameo depicting Zeus (9)
All with minor abrasions and scratches commensurate with age and use, amethyst cameo with chips to edge and fracture, small nicks to raised carved decoration, gross weight 12.2 grams, turquoise cameos all with some visible matrix, gross weight 45.2 grams, carnelian cameos all with fine cracks and some small nicks to edges and raised surfaces, gross weight 16.3 grams, glass cameo with chips and nicks to edge and raised decoration.
