A large Canaanite terracotta funerary 'mask’, Late Canaanite Period II, 14th – 13th Century BC. The facial portion from a pottery anthropoid sarcophagus with large eyes retaining white paint, angular nose and short, curled hair. 12 ½ x 13 ¼ in. Repaired from several large fragments. Ex Belgian private collection; Ex Helios Gallery, UK; Ex Maryland private collection.
