A large Roman bow brooch, 2nd centuryEquilateral brooch with large, half-round bow. Head and base in form of a stylized animal head. Extreme richly decorated bow with finely cut and engraved decoration, enamel and niello inlays. Two-thirds of the hinge-mounted pin well preserved. Exceptionally large specimen made with highly experienced craftsmanship. Bronze with green precious patina.
