A large blue and white fish basin. Late 18th/19th century
With curved wall and thickened lip rim, continuously decorated in underglaze-blue with two large cartouches depicting Shoulao with crane, Xiwang Mu with deer and Liuhai with toad in a boat in roaring waves, bordered by ribbonwork, hanging from it, peaches, endless knots and sound stone hanging from field mice, in between butterflies, in the interfields large peony blossom branches and other flowers, bordered by diamond borders with tendrils resp. flower medallions. Around the rim dot border, on the rim plum blossoms over burst ice.
