A large collection of Victorian silver-mounted horn beakers, various dates and makers, comprising:

A set of six Victorian silver-mounted stacking beakers, the mounts apparently unmarked, each with an applied disk engraved 'D&C / Brodick Castle' [for the Marquess of Douglas and Clydesdale] below a coronet, in a fitted turned wood case similarly engraved with an applied silver disk on the cover;
A set of six similar, each with an applied shield-shaped silver cartouche engraved 'H', maker's mark WT, London, 1878, fitted leather case;
A set of six similar, each with an applied shield-shaped silver cartouche engraved 'H' below a ducal coronet, maker's mark JB, London, 1872, fitted leather case;
A set of three similar smaller versions, each engraved 'H' below a ducal coronet within an applied silver shield, maker's mark J.A., Birmingham, 1908;
Six small silver-mounted horn cups, each engraved 'H' below a ducal coronet, maker's mark FP, London, 1878;
Together with a further six silver-mounted horn beakers and two silver-mounted tortoiseshell examples, various makers and sizes; 12 horn beakers in sizes and five associated leather cases

Provenance:
The sets from before 1895 probably William 12th Duke of Hamilton (1845-1895). The Duke for many years used the courtesy title for the eldest son of the Duke of Hamilton, that of the Marquessate of Douglas and Clydesdale, on the Island of Arran.
