A late 17th/early 18th century oak Snowdonia tridarn cwpwrdd, the moulded cornice above an open gallery, flanked by turned baluster pilasters and vertical wavy rails, upon the middle section with hanging sphere pendants in front of an arrangement of fielded panelled cupboard doors separated by a central panel, over the base with a pair of conforming panelled doors, raised upon stile feet, 196cm H x 136cm W x 55cm D
NB Snowdonia 1690 to 1720
This Tridarn is illustrated in Richard Bebb’s definitive book on “Welsh Furniture 1250-1950”. It is photograph 575 on page 330 of volume 1.
It was sold by Richard Bebb as the star piece of Welsh furniture in his autumn exhibition in 2004 for £16,800. The purchase receipt, and exhibition brochure will be included in the sale with the Tridarn
