A late 19th century 18ct gold sardonyx cameo brooch, carved to depict a woman in profile, possibly Hera, with black enamel and split pearl surrounds.French assay marks. Length 4.9cms. 32.3gms.With fitted case.
Condition Report: Surface scratches and minor marks. General slight discolourations.
Hook to reverse to suspend a drop.
Sardonyx agate has minimal discolouration/dirt and minimal frits to the neckline.
Split pearls appear fairly well matched, with a creamy white hue, varied lustre and overtones.
One split pearl with slight damage to the outer nacre layers, two with fine cracks/internal cracks.
