A late 19th century Chinese Straits parcel gilt silver box, Tibetan circa 1880 Of rectangular ‘cushion’ form with hinged mid-section. The curved sides of the lid with chased foliate scrolls and rosettes as well as turbo shells, lotus blossoms, fish, vastra and organic forms, centring with pierced foliate scrolls edged with a gilt meander scroll border. The centre with an applied chased gilt rosette set with a turquoise, flanked by two chased dear and two birds within lotus flowers. The underside with a tessellated pattern of quatrefoils. Length – 12.3 cm / 4.9 inches Weight – 303 grams / 9.75 ozt
