A late 19th century unmarked silver gilt mounted banded agate casket, probably Austrian, Vienna circa 1890 Of elongated octagonal form, raised on eight twin-scroll and caryatid feet of a maiden blowing a trumpet. The hinged domed top raised by a simple thumbpiece. The agate panels mounted en cage. Length – 15.5 cm / 6.1 inches
