A late George III silver cream jug.

A late George III silver cream jug of ovoid form, decorated to the whole with bright-cut engravings, central wreath cartouche with monogram, and reeded rim and handle. Hallmarked London 1802, maker's mark partly distorted. Height including handle 4" (10 cm), weight 2.86 ozt (89 grams).

Condition Report:
- The cream jug displays general surface wear, marks, scratches and tarnishing commensurate with age and use.

- There are some small surface nicks and the surface feels uneven and bumpy.

- Evidence of a previous repair to one side of the lower join of the handle, a vertical line running up from the base rim, measuring 2-2.5cm. Can also be seen to interior.

- There is a small amount of residue polish in the details of the reeded rim.

- The base displays some some scraped or file type marks, also some crudely scratched numbers, and a residue mark caused by the removal of a sticker.

- Hallmarks located below the rim on one side, some slight distortion caused by the decoration but all legible.

- Maker's mark appears overstruck, letters A and G are visble and possibly a letter H underneath.
