A late Victorian 18ct gold and platinum, ruby and diamond cluster ring. The cushion-shape ruby, with old-cut diamond surround. Estimated dimensions of ruby 5 by 4.4 by 4mms. Estimated total diamond weight 1.75cts, principal diamonds estimated H-I colour, SI1-P1 clarity. Ring size L. Weight 5.5gms. Purchasing information Overall condition fair to good. Some surface scratches/ wear in keeping with general age and wear. Stones appear to be replacements, with repair work to the head. Four smaller old-cut diamonds at each corner of the ruby. Diamonds well matched. Diamonds bright.

Individual size and setting of non-principal diamonds prevents accurate colour and clarity assessment.

Diamonds with small to moderate light and dark inclusions and some small chips. Some inclusions appear to be surface reaching. Ruby is a deep, medium purplish red hue, well saturated, with good clarity and typical inclusions.

Ruby in good condition with minor abrasions.
