A late Victorian gold mounted shell cameo brooch, carved to depict a Queen, possibly giving offerings of devotion.

Length 6.5cms. 22.8gms.
With fitted case.

Condition Report:
Scratches and small marks.
Shell shows fine cracking.
Scene appears medieval in style with a crowned woman and praying attendants, the woman kneeling and offering a basket of flowers.
Surround shows varied discolouration and some verdigris.
Electronically tests as approximately 12ct gold, possible gilt interference.
Fellows uses a Thermo Scientific Nitron Handheld XRF Analyser to test metals. This technology is limited to examining metal to a depth of approximately 8 microns.
