A lime glass & resin convex mirror in the manner of Line Vautrin .
A lime glass & resin convex mirror, in the manner of Line Vautrin. Contemporary. This contemporary "Gerbera" example is hand made by an artist using antique textured glass so it is one of a kind. Inspired by the work of renowned Parisian artist & jewelry designer Line Vautrin (1913-1997). During the post WWII era, she created a variety of bold sunburst style mirrors using a material of her own invention, Talosel, which was similar to resin. The production of these mirrors began in the 1950s and continued on with approximately 70 different designs finally documented. In February 2023, a feature in Architectural Digest mentioned how Vautrin's "spellbinding reflectors have captivated the design world for decades."
