A lovely Cypriot alabaster dish
A lovely Cypriot alabaster dish, c. 5th - 4th Century BC, with rounded bottom and wide, flat rim. Carved from attractive banded stone and a very nice piece! Dia: 3 1/2 in (8.9 cm). Light deposits and comes with a cute little custom wire stand. Cf. The Cesnola Collection, Metropolitan Museum of Art, no. 74.51.2295b for a near identical example; Ex Pennsylvania private collection, acquired at Kaufmann's Antiques, Tel Aviv, in 1967.
