A mahogany armchair in George III style, circa 1780 and later, of Gainsborough type, 94cm highProvenance: Property of a Private Family CollectionPlease note this lot is not on view at Donnington Priory, it is available to view at our off-site warehouse approximately 15 minutes drive from Donnington Priory, please book an appointment if you wish to view to avoid any disappointmentCondition Report: Marks, knocks, scratches and abrasions commensurate with age and use. Some old chips and splits. Vacant holes to undersides of front legs from where castors once sat. Section of replacement timber to one front leg. Later elements include; arms, rear rail and brackets to underside. Some filler used in places. Evidence of old worm to underside and central stretcher. Old glued repairs, including; to top of one front leg, end of one side stretcher and both rear feet (see images). Various old filled holes to tops of arm supports from previous upholstery tacks. Some marks and wear to upholstery. Please refer to additional images for visual reference to condition. Dreweatts cannot guarantee the originality of elements beneath upholstery.
