A monumental Sèvres style ormolu-mounted parcel-gilt and hand-painted porcelain covered vase late 19th century

Mounted to shoulders with finely cast ormolu articulated strapwork handles, painted to recto with Venus surrounded by putti and to verso with putti nestled amongst floral garlands; signed "H. Poitevin" and with blue underglaze Sèvres style interlaced-L mark and spurious "JJ" date for 1764.
