A nice pair of ancient stone seals
A nice pair of ancient stone seals. The first is Sasanian chalcedony stamp seal, c. 4th - 6th Century AD, depicting a seated male holding a staff or sceptre, 20 x 20 mm, the second is a Western Asiatic steatite seal, c. 1st Millennium BC, rectangular with an incised image of a humped bull on a ground line, crescent above. The reverse side is blank and drilled horizontally for suspension. 18 x 21 mm. Ex Peter Cheremisinoff collection, NJ.
