A pair of African wooden female figures. The first possessing definite age with elaborate hair, rings on neck and wearing a short skirt. H: 13 3/8 in (33.8 cm). The second is in the form of a woman standing on a cippus-like base, hands on belly. Her features are nicely cut, her hair darkend with pigment and she wears a cross pendant which is depicted in incised detail. H:11 5/8 in (29.5 cm).
