A pair of Chinese export silver butter knives, the handle with floral decoration to the whole, maker's mark for Yok Sang (Shanghai c. 1880 - 1910). Together with a variety of low grade foreign spoons to include a set of six teaspoons with elephant decoration to terminal, a similar set with figures in traditional dress to terminal, four Indian spoons, the bowls made from Indian currency, plus two further single spoons. Total gross weight 8 ozt (250 grams). (20).
Condition Report:
- Multiple item lot in mixed condition, all pieces displaying general surface wear, tarnishing, marks and scratches. Heavier damage to some pieces.
- Spoons testing between 75% - 83% Ag.
- Fellows uses a Thermo Scientific Nitron Handheld XRF Analyser to test metals. This technology is limited to examining metal to a depth of approximately 8 microns.
- Fellows does not guarantee the standard of silver unless an item is hallmarked. Results from electronically tested items should only be used as a guide and with caution, as false readings are possible.
