marked Nanking, Silver, circa 1938,
rectangular form, applied with the regimental badge, length 6cm, approx. weight 2.4oz. (2)
Provenance: a Private Collection of Regimental Silver.
These matchbox covers once belonged to Capt. S.R Hunt, and were acquired from his Widow.
Captain Hunt was stationed in Shanghai. His possessions were abandoned when he escaped the advancing Japanese, and was re-united with them in 1946.
