A pair of Continental marquetry inlaid arched rectangular mirrors, 20th century, each inlaid in the 17th century style with simulated tortoiseshell, mother of pearl and bone with vases of flowers carnations within borders of trailing flowering branches, with oval mirrors within moulded borders and scroll-shaped crests, 122cm high x 60cm wide

Condition Report:
One with extensive damage and deterioration to lower left corner, with damages and losses to frame and veneer, this damaged continues across the lower part of the frame into the right corner, where the veneers are lifiting and extensively damaged and the mouldings are lacking. Probably due to water damage. There are several areas of brown in-filled repairs to surface and veneers throughout the frame. The other example with similar extensive damage to the lower part of the frame, losses and lifting to the veneers here, mouldings partially lacking, some areas of similar brown in-filling to repair losses to veneers and surface cracking to frame overall. Both mirrors have some cracking and damage/deterioration to mirrored surface.
