A pair of Italian silver candlesticks - Genoa, probably 1777
on spiral-fluted domed base chased and embossed with foliage in Louis XV style, the stem similarly decorated and terminating in a spiral fluted socket. Stamped on the base with "Torretta" mark used by Goldsmiths' Corporation of Genoa. (Ref. argenti genovesi la Torretta di G.Roccatagliata, ed. Tormena, Genova 1992) Base diameter 14.5 cm, height 27.2 cm. Weight 760 gr. Item condition grading: **** good.
