A pair of carved wood, painted and parcel gilt wall brackets, in George III style, 19th century and later, each serpentine shaped shelf section with a rocaille carved frieze, above a carved ho ho bird, depicted perched and feeding on the fruit beneath, each 53cm high, 37cm wide, each shelf section 25cm deep
Condition Report:
Marks, knocks, scratches and abrasions commensurate with age and use. Some old chips and splits. Some old repairs. Painting and gilding refreshed, this has an 'antique' appearance. Holes to the back from previous hanging fixtures. The appearance of the bare timber to the back and top suggests significant age. Surface water marks to the top of one bracket.
