A pair of early George III silver cauldron salts, together with a set of four late Victorian silver open salts.

A pair of early George III silver open salts, each of cauldron form with scroll and shell design, and central crest engraved cartouche, raised upon three stepped hoof feet, with blue glass liners, hallmarked London 1770, maker's mark partly worn, with two later shell bowl salt spoons, hallmarked James Dixon & Sons Ltd., Sheffield 1892. Together with a set of four late Victorian silver open salts, each decorated with embossed acorns and oak leaves, raised upon three scroll style feet, with conforming spoons with branch style handles, hallmarked Mappin & Webb, London 1891. Gross weight excluding glass liners 7.27ozt (226 grams).

Condition Report:
- Multiple item lot in mixed condition.
- All pieces displaying surface wear, marks and scratches.
- All with some heavy tarnish, and would benefit from a good clean and a polish. Interiors very stained and marked.
- Some minor dints and splits to some rims, causing some to be a little misshapen.
- The blue glass liners are later replacements. With dirt, dust and minor edge nibbles.
- Hallmarks mostly legible, with heavy rubbing to some punches.
- Condition reports are offered as a guide only and we highly recommend inspecting any lot to satisfy yourself as to its condition.
