A pair of late George III mahogany hall chairs, circa 1800, the narrow shield-shaped backs above dished solid seats, on ring-turned splayed legs joined by turned x-shaped stretchers

Condition Report:
Please note, these chairs each measure 83cm high, 49cm wide, 50cm deep overall. Marks, knocks, scratches and abrasions commensurate with age and use. Some old chips and splits. Evidence of old worm to underside. Old repair and glue residue to joints. Chair 1: Seat is lifting from the rails slightly at the front. Joint between the stretcher and one leg has opened and is loose. Significantly more old worm to the underside than the other chair (see images). Old glued repair made the centre of the X stretcher. Chair 2: Movement in the back. The joint between the back and seat will need to be secured. Old glued repair made the centre of the X stretcher. Veneer to one side rail is lifting slightly.
