Condition report:
The colour of the sapphire is a good deep blue with straight line colour banding (indicating a natural sapphire) when viewed with a 10x lens under light, the colour banding cannot be seen with the naked eye, there are very small minor nicks around the girdle of the stone, the depth of the stone is 3mm. we have no information as to whether this stone has been treated, it has been a famiy jewel for some time. Gross weight of mount 3.6gms.
One of the smaller baguette cut diamonds has a chip on the top left corner, please see further image.
The shank is marked Plat and is consistent with the whole mount, the four claws holding the sapphire are substantial and secure, the condition of the mount is good with an average gauge shank, there is very slight wear against the setting under the sapphire where worn against another ring.
