Provenance: a Private Collection of Regimental Silver.

Originally raised in 1860 as a Yorkshire West Riding Rifle Volunteer Corps. In 1881 they became a volunteer battalion of the King's Own Yorkshire Light Infantry. In 1908 they became the 4th Battalion of the regiment.
