Note: For a similar example, see V&A Accession no W.6-1944, Victoria & Albert Museum collection.
Note: It is known that Lutyens kept a copy of ‘A History of English Furniture’ by Percy MacQuoid. In this book, there is an example of a Spiderback chair attributed to Sheraton, (see fig 921). This example may have provided the source for Lutyens’ Spiderback design for Delhi, Campion Hall and others, dating from 1929 onwards.
