A significant, North Indian khanda with solid gold

[ translate ]

The single-edged blade with a double-edged point, broadening slightly towards the point (minimal notching in places at the point). The back of the blade and the ricasso with openwork iron appliqués and lavish, fine gold inlays. The typical, riveted grip ferrule completely covered with floral gold damascening. Iron knuckle-bow hilt with profuse, well-preserved gold damascening, the pin on the pommel plate attached to a lanyard loop in fine gold. The grip with the original gold damask cover, the hilt still bearing the silk damask padding. The wooden scabbard with a red textile cover and solid gold furniture with floral décor in fine openwork. Length 94 cm.
Comes with the metal analysis on the scabbard fittings, documenting the gold content of the material at 98.5%, in other words, indicating that almost pure, fine gold was used.
