decorated with niello rocaille foliate scrolls on both sides; with niello scenes depicting the monument to Minin and Pozharsky in Moscow on one side and the Bronze Horseman in St Petersburg on the other, both on an engraved silver-gilt background; the lid with applied niello trophies of war on either side on a silver-gilt engraved background, the top of the lid with a niello pattern revealing a face, struck with maker's mark 'D.A' in Cyrillic, 84 standard
length 13.2cm; 5 1/5 in.

Condition Report:
Excellent condition overall. Rubbing and scratches to the gilding where the body is covered by the lid, as to be expected with age and use.
