Formed in 1860 as The Cambridgeshire Rifle Volunteer Corps. In 1887 they became the 3rd (Cambridgeshire)Volunteer Battalion, The Suffolk Regiment. They then became the 1st Battalion The Cambridgeshire Regiment.
