A suite of giltwood seat furniture in Louis XVI style, early 20th century, comprising a set of four side chairs, an armchair, and a canape (6)Provenance: Property from a Private CollectionCondition Report: All elements with marks, knocks, scratches, abrasions consistent with age and use, some chips and losses to the gilt surface, especially to the rear side probably where it has been against a wall, also some chips and losses to cresting areas. Some areas of re-freshing, the upholstery later and in a condition that reflects this, some light marks from use in a domestic setting. The chairs with a few more knocks and losses to the gilt surfaces especially the cresting rails, some joints appear to have opened previously but all seems solid and stable, these were probably strengthened with then upholstery was fitted.
