A thangka of a Karma Kagyu Lineage lama. Tibet. 18th century
The main character is depicted sitting on a large red throne, holding a glass vase with a large lotus plant in her right hand, the stem supported by her left hand. On the head a blue Kagyu hat, ears and body adorned with golden jewellery. Before the throne an adorant with entourage and an extremely rare depiction of a dog-headed creature. This work probably belongs to a group of thangkas with the set of Eight Great Bodhisattvas. Signs of age, brocade mounting, framed under glass.
