A turn of the century silver hot water pot.

A turn of the century silver hot water pot, of baluster form with domed hinged lid and ebonised scroll handle, decorated to the whole with alternating lobes and bead motifs and bands of trailing foliage. Hallmarked Marston & Bayliss, Birmingham 1900. Height to finial 9.75" (24.5cm), gross weight 12 ozt (373.4 grams).

Condition Report:
- Displaying some general expected surface scratches, marks and wear commensurate with the age and use.
- Quite heavy tarnishing, staining and dirt residues to some areas including the interior. Would benefit from a clean and polish.
- Fairly large dent to one side of bulbous lower body.
- Several smaller dints and bumps, mainly visible to areas of the raised decoration of the lower body.
- Knocks around edge of spout.
- Further minor knocks to foot rim. Very slight wobble.
- Hinged lid appears in good working order and it closes flush.
- Hallmarks located to one side of handle with further lion passant and date letter to lid. All clearly legible with just some light rubbing.
