A very complete 19th century doctor's box. - Iron, ebony, copper, silver, paper. - 19th century

A tin painted green box with inscription: DR J. H. EBERSON. Sizes: 31x11x8 cm. The box contains many instruments wrapped in a linen roll with compartment dividers. The box contains: 10 trachea cannulas, silver or silver plated, for children (diphtheria was common in the 19th century) , a box with surgical round suture needles, a box with 4 silver probes, 2 rare wound splinters, 4 wound hooks, three scalpels, a rare clamp, an early foldable ether cap, a bone marrow needle, a hellish stone holder, various tweezers and probes, two thermometers in metal canisters (a Celcius and a Fahrenheit, with warranty card) and two handles for a Gigli saw. The contents of the box give a good impression of the work of an English rural doctor in the nineteenth century. The photos are an essential part of the description.
