A walnut marquetry longcase clock, William Cooper, Colchester, movement and case associated

12-inch dial with wheatear border, mask and scroll spandrels, signed Wm Cooper, Colchester, matted centre with subsidiary seconds dial, ringed winding holes and engraved date aperture, the movement with five knopped and ringed pillars, internal locking plate striking on a bell, the associated and altered case with flat top and spiral hood pilasters, rectangular trunk door with lenticle, the plinth with later base, the trunk door and plinth inlaid in various woods with bird, flower and vase marquetry

Condition Report:
Dial in generally good condition though rather dirty. Movement is complete and appears to retain the original wheel work throughout but is very dirty and needs complete clean, service and overhaul. Associated case has replaced/rebuilt hood and later base to the plinth, replaced mouldings to the trunk door, other restorations, losses, scuffs and marks throughout. With a pendulum and two weights but no winder or case keys.
