After Michele Giovanni (Michiel) Marieschi (Italian 1710-1743), "Grand Canal with Basilica di Santa Maria Della Salute", 19th century, depicting Venetian society going about their business on a clear sunny morning, with gondolas and ferries on the main canal, and the Baroque church as the focal point, apparently unsigned, framed. Approx. 26.5", w. 40.25" (frame), h. 24.125", w. 38.375" (canvas)
Condition Report: Examined under blacklight, scattered small inpainting, relined with heavy wax layer, small chip to paint under wax layer, small frame rubbing lower right corner, possible repair to sky over San Gregorio Abbey, and replaced stretcher.
